Meadow View Cemetery & Memorial Grounds
At approximately three acres in size and surrounded by hedges and woodland, Meadow View has a private track from its gated entrance down to the burial area. Once there, a small area of hardstanding enables the conveyance of the person who has died to the place of burial in a calm and gentle manner.
Each plot will enable the burial of up to four individuals, either in the shape of a cross (with either feet or head towards the centre), or side by side in two pairs. We don't believe in burying more than one body deep as graves that are up to four deep are simply to save space. However, at Meadow View Cemetery our intention is to be able to provide sufficient space for tree planting and commemorative markers - as well as ultimately small private seating areas, if required - as close to the burials as possible.
It is widely accepted that in the UK there can be anywhere from 800-1200 burials per acre. However, we will not be wanting to have more than 500 per acre as this will enable the area to remain spacious and for planted trees to be given room to mature.
