About Us
'In Memoriam' is the funeral services provider for The Never Forgotten CIO, a 'Charitable Incorporated Organisation', which means that whatever we do is not for profit. Such companies are also more strictly regulated than a regular limited company and as a not-for-profit, our directors take no salary and all funds taken in payment for the services we provide are used only for this purpose. In the event that the company makes a profit, this money is retained within the company and will be used towards completing our long term goal of owning and maintaining a cemetery/natural burial ground, Meadow View Cemetery. We stand by our guarantee to do our absolute utmost for families coming to us in need of assistance with planning a funeral. To this end, if we have a surplus of funds then we will help those most in need and, longer term, we shall continue to subsidise the cost of funerals.
Funeral charges rise year on year and it is through personal experience that we felt something needed to be done - far too often families are unable to give their loved ones the funeral they so deserve, so we decided to tackle the issue from the opposite side - rather than pay an excessive amount for a cremation or burial service that last perhaps an hour or two, why not offer a simple direct funeral option. This not only keeps costs down, but means that your loved one can be given the send-off they deserve in a way that is personal for you and relevant to them - perhaps book the church they attended, or a local hall to hold a celebration of their life. Maybe even book a crematorium chapel, but instead of having the coffin at the front, why not an urn holding their ashes, surrounded by their favourite flowers or personal items? Or in the case of a burial, perhaps instead of the coffin at the front of the church, why not a memory table, with items placed on it that were important to your loved one?
As such, our services give you a cost effective way of providing the funeral you want.
As a not-for-profit company, we are governed by the suppliers we use and, as such, can be beyond our control. If we can absorb a cost that would usually be charged to the person booking the funeral, we will.
*PLEASE NOTE* From the 1st March 2026, we no longer have set 'prices' for our services, to reflect that we are a charitable company as opposed to a fixed cost funeral directors. Values on the 'Our Services' page now show suggested donations for the chosen service - by paying the stated donation you ensure that we are able to provide the required product/service. Any additional sum you wish to pay on top of this amount will create a surplus, which we can use towards our longer term goals.
With our registered offices in Ruislip, temperature-controlled premises near Horsham and burial ground in East Sussex, we can effectively cover the entire area within the M25 and beyond. We also regularly work outside of this area to encompass Reading to the West and Maidstone to the East, Cambridge to the North and Brighton to the South. That said, we do travel further afield on request - in particular Devon, Somerset and the West Country - so please do not hesiate to get in touch with your requirements.
