Celebrant and vehicle services on a not-for-profit basis
New services for 2026
May 2026 will mark my tenth year as an Independent Celebrant (accredited by the FOIC) and non-denominational Minister, which means that I am able to officiate most types of religious and non-religious funeral services.
Having officiated an average of over 100 services per year in that time, approximately 80% of my bookings are by personal recommendation, usually from family I have previously officiated for or perhaps an attendee at one of my services subsequently contacting me, in addition to the more usual method of via a funeral arranger within a company.
In that time I have made it a personal goal of mine to plant a tree on behalf of any family who would like one, as a memorial to the person who has died. On that basis I have had planted over 500 and I have a personal total of 1450. Incredibly, this equates to the absorption of at least 15,000kg of carbon dioxide per year, or 15 long haul flights.
I am now also the Director of a charitable incorporated organisation that has been established to raise funds for a variety of lesser known charities and non-profit organisations, predominantly in the funeral-related sector, the long term goal of which is to create a natural burial ground with an ashes memorial garden.
To that end, in addition to providing my services as a celebrant to families and funeral directors alike, from June I will be able to offer a black MPV (people carrier) as an alternative to a limousine, perhaps for families who are trying to keep within a budget or maybe have a family member who is less able to get in and out of a regular height car. Every booking made will be as you would ordinarily expect from a limousine service.
In keeping with my not-for-profit ethos, the celebrant and vehicle charges are now suggested donations.
The usual celebrant fee would be £250, whilst the provision of the vehicle is at a suggested payment of £150 and includes three hours of usage time (to commence when the vehicle leaves South West London (SW11) until the booking is completed), a DBS checked driver who will assist with passengers where required as well as the provision of up to two child booster seats (to cater for children aged approximately 6-12 years) if required. You are also more than welcome to book both services for a single funeral. Expenses are allowed to be retained from charitable donations and, as such, £25 would be retained from each to cover the cost of travel and time/vehicle fuel and insurance, as applicable.
If the vehicle is being provided outside of the M25 area then the donation for the booking will be by mutual agreement.
In keeping with my not-for-profit ethos, all payments relating to the use of these services will be made to a charitable bank account, collated monthly and shared amongst the projects being supported and annual published accounts will reflect this.

Over half of all adults don't have
a Will....
Without a Will, the law will decide based on intestacy rules what happens to your possessions (including property), meaning that unmarried partners, stepchildren and friends will usually inherit nothing. This in turn creates more stress, cost and potential family arguments. By having a Will, you ensure that your assets (including money, property and possessions) go to the people you choose.
Several groups of people benefit from leaving a Will, including anyone with children and/or unmarried/cohabiting partners, business and/or property owners, those with savings, investments, life insurance and anyone who wants to leave money or items to charities and/or friends.
Taking the opportunity to use our Will Writing Service means that any potential issues after your death will not arise as you will have already put your wishes into a legal form. Our service includes an individual Will, five copies for you to distribute as necessary (such as to a Solicitor, children and/or close friend, for example) and we can also retain a copy for you. Our service also includes as many rewrites and updates as you require.
In addition, in 2006 The National Will Register was formed and is an independent central database where your Will can be stored, thus preventing Wills from being lost. To date, in excess of 10 million Wills are stored with them. We are able to arrange this additional service for you at a cost of £30 per Will (which is the fee they charge), or you can arrange to do this for yourself (with the fee remaining the same).
All we ask is that in return for our providing you with a will writing service you make a minimum donation of £20 to our charitable company which has been established to provide heavily subsidised - and ultimately free - direct cremations and burials.
